The day after... [Dec. 26th, 2003|09:25 pm]

[music |Tool - 46 and 2]

Up til nearly 5 a.m. this morning/last night. After the pookah went to bed, my ever lovin' man and I enjoyed some time together. It is hard to believe that this is the sixth Christmas that he's been in my life. A lot of people will say that after two or three years it gets more boring - that after six months or so that the shine wears off of a relationship and dulls the original excitement and intensity. Well I'm here to tell you that if you find the right one, then that isn't necessarily the case. In May it will be six years since we've been into each other and I love him more with each passing day... with each passing moment even.

Okay - enough mush.

So I have this incredible digital camera and I'm addicted. I think that the next year will be one of photography for me. A new fork along my learning path in the arts.

This is my camera (click here folks if you wanna see what it looks like

It is a Sony DSC-F717 which, up until recently, was their top of the line. They just came out with an 8 megapixel model for about a grand but I'm happy with this gem for a while I think.

Here is an example of what it can do. I took this photo at Floyd Lamb State Park here in Vegas.

While (being digital) it still has some limits, it really is a remarkable camera and the glass is fantastic. (Carl Zeiss Vario Sonnar Lens)

Anyway... enough of mah rambing. My man bought me some new filters for Christmas... I'll post a pic or two maybe later tonight or tomorrow.

peace...

It took me long enough... [Dec. 25th, 2003|03:48 pm]
Christmas day... years after I opened this journal and I'm finally making an entry, thanks to my Kola nut.

This is the sixth Christmas that I have spent without my family back in Michigan. It still seems strange, even after all these years.

My pookah had an excellent day. He and Wayne are playing X-box games and dinner is in the oven and Grandma Reeside's recipe box is presiding over the kitchen and life is good. Isn't it strange that as time goes on and life becomes more complicated, it is the simplest of things that make it all complete?

I am grateful for today

simply.
